Ingredients
  

  • 500 g ground beef (medium fat)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil or olive oil
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp salt adjust to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 2 cups cooked Brazilian white rice
  • Fresh parsley or green onions chopped (optional)

Method
 

  1. Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the onion and cook until soft.
  3. Add the garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.
  4. Add the ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up as it cooks.
  5. Reduce heat to low and add the cooked rice.
  6. Mix gently until the rice is evenly coated and warmed through.
  7. Adjust seasoning and finish with fresh herbs, if using.

Notes

  • This dish should stay moist. Avoid overcooking once the rice is added.
  • Leftover rice works well here and absorbs flavor easily.
  • Optional additions include grated carrots or peas, depending on preference.
