Ingredients
  

  • 700 g ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1–2 tbsp tomato paste or 1 chopped tomato optional
  • chopped parsley or green onions optional

Method
 

  1. Heat the olive oil in a wide pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the onion and cook until soft and translucent.
  3. Add the garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.
  4. Add the ground beef and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Break up the meat with a spoon and cook until fully browned.
  6. If using tomato paste or fresh tomato, add and cook for 2–3 minutes.
  7. Adjust seasoning and finish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

  • Keep the seasoning light to maintain versatility.
  • This base can be kept dry or slightly saucy depending on how it will be used.
  • Avoid adding too much oil — the beef should be moist, not greasy.
  • Let it cool slightly before storing to preserve texture.
